The short answer
Yes, with conditions. TikTok's Community Guidelines welcome content made with generative AI, but require creators to label AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows realistic-looking scenes or people, and they don't allow AI content that misleads about matters of public importance or harms individuals. An AI product video with an AI model wearing or using your product is the kind of realistic content that needs the label. In the US, the FTC's rules on endorsements and reviews apply to it like any other ad: disclose paid relationships, and don't present an AI model as a real customer who tried the product.
This page summarizes public sources as we read them on 2026-10-09. It isn't legal advice, and platform rules change: check the current version of each source, and TikTok Shop's own seller and creator rules in your Seller Center, before you post.
What TikTok's Community Guidelines say about AI content
TikTok's rules on AI sit in the Integrity and Authenticity section of its Community Guidelines, under "Edited Media and AI-Generated Content (AIGC)". As of our last check, the main points are:
- Labeling is required for realistic content. TikTok asks creators to label content that uses AI or significant edits to show realistic-looking people or scenes. You can use TikTok's own AIGC label, or add your own clear caption, sticker or watermark.
- Unlabeled content can be acted on. TikTok says unlabeled content may be removed, restricted or labeled by its team, depending on the harm it could cause.
- A label doesn't make everything acceptable. Even with a label, TikTok doesn't allow content that is misleading about matters of public importance or harmful to individuals.
- Likeness matters. The not-allowed list includes using the likeness of private figures without consent, and content showing a public figure supporting products they haven't actually addressed.
- Every other rule still applies. The guidelines say content that breaks any of its rules, including those on impersonation and misinformation, isn't allowed even if it's AI-generated.
The same section lists cases where disclosure isn't needed, such as small edits like color correction, reframing or cropping, artistic styles like anime, and generic text-to-speech narration that isn't the recognizable voice of a known person. A product video with a realistic AI model is not one of those cases, so plan to label it.

TikTok can label AI content on its own
On 2024-05-09 TikTok announced it was expanding auto-labeling to AI-generated content made on some other platforms, using Content Credentials: metadata attached to a file that TikTok says it can use to recognize and label AI-generated content. In practice, a file that carries Content Credentials can be labeled as AI even if you forget to turn the label on.
Every file Alvin's Club Studio delivers carries Content Credentials that label it as AI-generated. We still suggest turning on the AI-generated label yourself when you post: it is what the guidelines ask of creators, and it tells viewers up front.

If you also post the video on Instagram or Facebook
Many sellers post the same Reel on Instagram. Meta applies an "AI info" label (it was called "Made with AI" until July 2024) when its systems detect industry-standard AI indicators, or when people disclose that they are uploading AI-generated content. Meta also says content that was only modified by AI tools shows the label in the post menu instead.
So the habit is the same on both apps: disclose AI content when you post it, and expect the platform to read the file's own signals too.

Advertising rules: endorsements, affiliate links and reviews
Platform rules are only half of it. In the US, the FTC's guidance for influencers applies to product videos that promote something you are paid for, AI-made or not. From the FTC's Disclosures 101:
- Disclose any financial, employment, personal or family relationship with a brand, and anything of value you got to mention a product.
- Make the disclosure hard to miss and put it with the endorsement. Simple words like "ad" and "sponsored" work; a hashtag such as #ad is fine but not required.
- In a video, the disclosure belongs in the video itself, not only in the description.
- You can't talk about your experience with a product you haven't tried.
On 2024-08-14 the FTC also announced a final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials, which covers AI-generated fake reviews: reviews or testimonials attributed to people who don't exist, to people who had no real experience with the business or product, or that misstate the reviewer's experience. Businesses can't create or sell them, and can't buy or spread them when they knew or should have known they were fake.
For AI product videos this means one thing above all: an AI model can show how a dress hangs or how a chair reclines, but the script shouldn't claim that a real person bought, used or loved the product. Present it as a product video, not as a customer review.

A checklist before you post an AI product video
- Turn on the AI-generated label (or add a clear caption, sticker or watermark saying the video is AI-generated).
- Promote only products you're allowed to promote: your own, or ones you are authorized to sell through an affiliate program.
- Disclose paid relationships in the video and the caption when you earn from the product.
- No fake experience. Don't write "I've worn this every day" over an AI model. Describe the product: the cut, the material, the size range, what's in the box.
- No real person's likeness without consent, and no public figure appearing to endorse your product.
- Keep claims to what the product page says. No health, safety or performance claims you can't back up.
- Watch the whole video and compare it with the listing. AI video can drift on color, print or small details; a product that looks different from what ships is a problem with buyers and with platform rules on misleading listings.
- Check TikTok Shop's current seller and creator policies for your market, since Shop listings and Shop videos have their own rules on top of the Community Guidelines.
How Alvin's Club Studio fits these rules
Our videos are made to be posted as labeled AI content:
- Models are AI-generated, or your own model with that person's consent, never the people in your original photos.
- Every file carries Content Credentials that label it as AI-generated.
- Self-serve videos come without text in the frame; the caption and hashtags are delivered as editable text, so you can add your AI disclosure and #ad where your rules need them.
- Scripts describe the product; they don't claim a personal experience.
- We make every effort to keep your product consistent with your photos. AI video can still slip, so check each video before you post it.

Prices are on our pricing page: your first video is free, then 3 credits ($3) for 8 seconds.

Questions
Does TikTok ban AI-generated product videos?
Not as such. TikTok's Community Guidelines welcome content made with generative AI but require a label on AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows realistic-looking scenes or people, and don't allow AI content that misleads about matters of public importance or harms individuals. Check TikTok Shop's own policies for your market too.
How do I label an AI video on TikTok?
Use TikTok's AIGC label when you post, or add your own clear caption, sticker or watermark saying the video is AI-generated. TikTok can also label content automatically when the file carries Content Credentials.
What happens if I don't label it?
TikTok's guidelines say unlabeled content may be removed, restricted or labeled by its team, depending on the harm it could cause.
Can an AI model say she loves the product?
Don't present an AI model as a real customer. The FTC says you can't talk about your experience with a product you haven't tried, and its 2024 rule bans fake reviews and testimonials, including AI-generated ones. Describe the product instead.
Do I still need #ad on an AI video?
If you earn from the product or have a relationship with the brand, the FTC asks for a clear disclosure, placed in the video itself, not only in the description. A hashtag like #ad is fine but not required; plain words like "ad" work.
Are Alvin's Club Studio videos labeled?
