TikTok Shop low quality AIGC: what the rule says, and how to make a product video that can comply
Updated 2026-10-15 · Alvin's Club Studio
What TikTok Shop's public policy says about low-quality AI video, what sellers report, and how a catalog clip or an ad hook test differs from flooding an affiliate feed.
Key points
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Policy, 9 Oct 2026 | US TikTok Shop allows AI that does not mislead or change the product, and says synthetic visuals can be low quality. |

| A fit for Studio | A catalog clip or an ad hook test. Not a stack of near-copy affiliate posts. |
| What you do | Download, check the product, turn on the AI label, and post it yourself. |
| Price | First video free with a small watermark. Then $3 for 8 seconds. No subscription. |
The short answer
TikTok Shop's US content policy, updated 9 October 2026, allows AI-generated content when it does not mislead, impersonate, change the product, or invent an effect. The same policy says AI video may be treated as misleading or low quality when synthetic pictures replace a real demonstration and do not help a shopper understand the product. Sellers on public forums describe an account restriction named Low Quality AIGC Videos. Nothing on this page means TikTok will leave your video up. A product studio is a fit for a catalog clip and for testing an ad hook. It is a poor fit for flooding an affiliate feed with near copies.
Alvin's Club Studio makes an 8, 12 or 15 second vertical video from a product link or from one to three photos. You download it and post it yourself. Turn on TikTok's AI-generated label. The first video is free, with a small watermark. Later videos are $3, $4 or $5 before credit packs, with no subscription.
What TikTok Shop's own policy says
The US seller content policy groups AI-generated content in its own section. It says AI content is not allowed if it misleads or deceives viewers, impersonates someone, changes or exaggerates the product, fabricates a product effect or function, or otherwise breaks the content policy or the community guidelines. Creators must keep the AI video matched to the actual product and the product page: size, color, material, quantity, accessories, compatibility, safety, installation and performance claims.
A later sentence in that policy is the one that maps to the phrase sellers search for. AI-generated content may be considered misleading or low quality if it replaces a real product demonstration with synthetic visuals that do not help shoppers understand the product. Enforcement listed around that section includes removing the content and violation points. The separate AI-generated content document says the platform supports responsible use and that content is not restricted only because it uses AI, provided the other rules are met. It also requires a clear disclosure when the content is entirely AI-generated or significantly edited with AI, including a change to what someone says or does, a large change of appearance, or added synthetic elements. Official TikTok effects can be labeled by the platform. A third-party tool, which is what Studio is, still needs the disclosure you turn on when you post.

What sellers report, and what we will not claim
On r/TikTokshop, sellers describe repeated hits with the words Low Quality AIGC Videos, and affiliates describe violations and bans after using AI. One thread describes commission held after a ban for automated content. Another describes brands that do not want affiliate AI video on their products. These are reports from sellers, not a count of how often TikTok acts, and not a list of every brand. A brand can refuse AI even when the platform's written policy allows a labeled, accurate clip.
This guide does not promise an account will stay clear. It does not say a particular edit will pass review. If your income depends on one affiliate account, treat a synthetic video as a risk you choose, and keep a human-filmed option for the products and brands that ask for it.
Where a product studio fits, and where it does not
Two jobs fit a short AI product video. The first is a catalog showcase: the item worn or used, so a shopper can see the color, the shape and the movement a still photo does not show. The second is an ad hook test: a new opening line or a new scene, looked at before you spend a creator's fee. People on public forums describe paying about $300 for one creator video just to learn whether a hook works. Here an 8-second video is $3, so the test can come first. A cheap test does not tell you the hook will sell. It lets you watch it.
The job that fits badly is mass affiliate posting. A Japan seller-education page on AIGC, which is not the US policy but is public, tells creators not to mass-produce many copies of the same promotional video or low-effort repeats of one script. Even without quoting that page as a US rule, the US policy's low-quality language points the same way: a synthetic clip that does not help someone understand the product is the risk. Studio does not upload to TikTok for you, does not run your affiliate account, and does not decide whether a brand allows AI.
You also do not need a camera or a videographer for the catalog clip. Paste the product link, or upload photos if the page cannot be read. Review color, print, logo and shape before you post. We make every effort to keep the product consistent with your photos. AI video can still slip.
A practical way to make one video
- Pick one product and one claim that the listing already states: a fabric, a fit, a room, a color. Do not add a result, a medical effect or a personal story the model could not have had.
- Paste a TikTok Shop (US) link, or another store link we read, or 1-3 photos and the product name. Self-serve covers clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, jewelry and home goods: furniture, bedding, decor and bath. Not lamps or rugs.
- Choose 8, 12 or 15 seconds. Eight seconds is enough for one hook. You get a 9:16 file, a voiceover, and a caption with hashtags as text you can edit. There is no text burned into the frame.
- Watch it on a phone against the listing. If the product drifted, do not post that file.
- Post it yourself with TikTok's AI-generated control turned on. Say it is AI in the caption when the video is a synthetic scene. Affiliate posts also need whatever disclosure the program asks for.
- Stop after a small set. A few distinct hooks are a test. Dozens of near copies of one video are the pattern the low-quality language describes.

Price, and when a person is the right hire
You pay per video. An 8-second video is 3 credits, 12 seconds is 4 and 15 seconds is 5. One credit is $1, less in a credit pack. There is no subscription. Your first video is free: 8 seconds, a small watermark, email only, no card. Videos you make after the first credit purchase have no watermark. You pay for every video we generate. Scripts we stop in review and videos that fail to generate are free. See pricing.
Hire a person when the video's value is their own use of the product, or when the brand's program forbids AI. If you would rather have a team pick products, make videos, post them and track sales, done for you is paid by results: our team charges a very low basic production cost per successful video, plus commission (CPS) on sales. That program is not a way around a platform rule. See done for you.
Questions
Will TikTok Shop accept my AI product video?
The public policy allows AI when the video is labeled, matches the product, and does not mislead. It also says synthetic visuals can be treated as low quality when they replace a real demonstration. TikTok can still remove a video or restrict an account. This page cannot tell you the outcome for yours.
What does low quality AIGC mean?
Sellers use that phrase for an account restriction. The policy text we can cite says AI content may be low quality when it does not help a shopper understand the real product. Read the linked policy for the current wording.
Should affiliates use AI videos?
Only if the program and the brand allow it, and only with the AI label. Some brands refuse AI affiliate video even when the platform allows a labeled clip. A catalog video on your own listing is a different decision from an affiliate post on someone else's product.
Can I test hooks without a $300 creator video?
Yes. An 8-second video here is $3, so you can look at a hook before you hire. The test does not promise a sale, and it does not promise the video will stay up on TikTok Shop.
Do I need a camera?
No. A product link or a few photos is enough. You still review the file, label it, and post it yourself.
